I hope you are well.  Please see below the details for the return to school and the Parent Handbook is attached for your attention.

On Monday 22nd February, our Foundation Phase pupils return to school.  These are the pupils in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.  The same arrangements are in place as before Christmas.  All the details are contained in the Parent Handbook.  Below are the main points:
·         Arrival between 8:50am – 9:10am
·         Fruit will be on sale 30p a day or you can provide your own
·         School uniform should be worn if possible
·         ALL adults must wear face coverings when coming on to the school site
·         School dinners will be available (please top up your account if required)
·         End of the day – children with no siblings to be collected at 3:05pm, children with siblings (even if not currently in school) 3:15pm.

Breakfast Club will be open (as before Christmas) please see details in the Parent Handbook.

Key Stage 2 pupils of critical workers and vulnerable learners will also attend school.  These places have already being allocated.  Do not send your child to school if have not submitted an application form or have not received confirmation from the school.

All other Key Stage 2 learners will continue to learn remotely via Hwb and Google Classroom.  Google Meets have being arranged for next week, please check the ‘stream’.  There is a possibility that our Key Stage 2 learners will return to school on Monday 15th March.  This is NOT confirmed.

Dear Parent/Carer,

The First Minister for Education has announced today that children in the Foundation Phase are due to return to school from Monday 22nd February.  This is the period after half term.  All head teachers are meeting with the Director of Education and Family Support on Monday 8th February to discuss the arrangements.  Please take time to read the media statements to familiarise yourself with the content and expectations.  You will be informed next week of the return to school plan as soon as we are able to do so.

There is no return to school date for the older children in Key Stage 2 (Juniors) at present.  All Key Stage 2 children will continue to learn from home via the various on-line platforms until further notice.

I thank you for your patience and understanding.  Please remember to contact the school if you have any queries or concerns.

Yours sincerely

Dear Parent/Carer,
Next week staff will be holding a Google Meet with your child.  The idea is that the teacher will lead a live activity with the children on-line in their class.  To ensure the safety of pupils and the staff strict protocols must be followed.  The guidelines and advice are attached to this message and they can be found on the school website.  Parents are requested to complete the MS Form by following the link below to agree to the terms of live steam Google Meet.  For Google Meet to be successful everyone must be respectful and follow the rules at all times.

The time of your child’s Google Meet will be shared with you later today.

Thank you in anticipation of your cooperation.

Message:Dear Parent/Carer,

I hope you and your family are safe and well.  It is a very difficult time for all and your support with home learning is greatly appreciated.  We all want the children back in school, where they belong as soon as possible.  In the meantime, we must work together to help the children as best we can.

There a number of documents attached for your attention.  The documents are also on the school website.  Please visit the COVID19 updates and the Home Learning tab.  In the Home Learning tab you will find useful video guides of how to access Active Learn for reading, Big Maths On-line, Hwb and Google Classroom.  For Foundation Phase, you will also find the Home Learning grids in your class tab.

All staff have produced a timetable for their class.  This will provide some routine for the children.  Key Stage 2 staff will be providing 2 lessons a day in Google Classroom.  Please support your child with the work where you are able to do so.

Also, attached for your information is a home/school contract.  It aims to clearly define the expectations of the school, pupils and parents.

Kind regards / Cofion

Neil
